we are going to learn about how to hide an button onclick using JavaScript.
Consider, we have a following html button element.
<button id="btn">Hello</button>
To hide a button by clicking on it, first we need to access the button element inside the JavaScript using the document.getElementById() method, add a click eventListener to it then on each click set its style.display property to “none”’.
Here is an example:
const button = document.getElementbyId("btn");button.addEventListener("click", ()=>{ button.style.display= "none";})When we set a style.display property to none, it removes the button element from the dom.
Using style.visibility property
We can hide a button onclick by setting the element object style.visibility property to hidden.
Here is an example:
const button = document.getElementbyId("btn");button.addEventListener("click", ()=>{ button.style.visibility= "hidden";})In the example above, we have added a click event listener to the button element and set its style.visibility to hidden. so whenever a user clicks on the button it hides the element from a dom.
The main difference between style.display and style.visibility properties are:
When we set a style.display property to none, it removes the element completely from the dom .
When we set a style.display property to hidden, it just hides the element but doesn’t remove it in the dom.
