we are going to learn about how to get the last element of an array in JavaScript.
Consider we have an array with 3 elements like this.
const fruits = ["apple", "banana", "grapes"];
Now, we need to get the last element grapes from the above array.
Getting the last element
To get the last element of an array, we can use the square brackets [ ] syntax by passing an array.length-1 as an argument to it.
The array.length property returns the total number of elements in an array. If we subtract it with -1 we will get the last element index.
Here is an example:
const fruits = ["apple", "banana", "grapes"];const lastElement = arr[arr.length-1];console.log(lastElement); // "grapes"
Similarly, we can also get the last element of an array by using the slice() method with -1 as an argument.
const fruits = ["apple", "banana", "grapes"];const lastElement = arr.slice(-1);console.log(lastElement); // ["grapes"]
