we are going to learn about two different ways to get the first element of a array in JavaScript.

In JavaScript, Arrays are zero based index, where the index of the first element is 0, the second element is 1, third element is 3 and last element index is arr.length-1 etc.

Consider, we have an array with 3 elements like this.

const arr = ['lol','ball','doll']

Get the first element of a array

To get the first element of an array, we can use the square brackets syntax by passing the index 0.So it returns first element from the given array.

Here is an example:

const arr = ['lol','ball','doll'];console.log(arr[0]); // 'lol'

Second way: Using the slice method

In es6, we have a slice( ) method, if we pass 0,1 as arguments to the slice() method,we can get the first element of an array.

Example:

const arr = ['lol','ball','doll']console.log(...arr.slice(0,1)); // 'lol'

The slice() method doesn’t modify your original array instead of creates a new array with the modified values.
