Where 0 is the start index, n is the number of characters we need to get from the string.

string name = "pearson"; string firstThree = name.Substring(0,3); Console.WriteLine(firstThree);
Output:
pea
In the example above, we have passed 0, 3 as arguments to the Substring() method. So it starts the extraction at index position 0 and extracts before the index 3.
