Getting the current year

We can get the current year in TypeScript by calling a getFullYear() method on a new Date() constructor.

The getFullYear() method returns the current year in four-digit(2022) format according to the user local time.

Here is an example:

const currentYear  = new Date().getFullYear();console.log(currentYear);

Output:

2022

Also we can get the current month, date in TypeScript by using getMonth(), getDate() methods.

Here is an example of current month:

const currentMonth  = new Date().getMonth();console.log(currentMonth); // 8

The getMonth() returns the month in numerical format from (0 – 11), where 0 is January, 1 is February and 11 is December, etc.

Here is an example of current date:

const currentDate  = new Date().getDate();console.log(currentDate); // 7

The getDate() returns the current day of a month according to the user’s local time.
