Get the last 5 elements of an array in JavaScript

we are going to learn about how to get the last 5 elements of an array in JavaScript.

Consider, we have an array like this:

const cars = ["audi", "benz", "bmw", "volvo", "skoda", "Mg"];

To access the last 5 elements of an array, we can use the built-in slice() method by passing the -5 as an argument to it.

Where negative index -5 extracts the last five elements from the end of an array, that is same asarr.length-5.

Here is an example:

const cars = ["audi", "benz", "bmw", "volvo", "skoda", "Mg"];const lastFive = cars.slice(-5);console.log(lastFive);

Output:

["benz", "bmw", "volvo", "skoda", "Mg"]

The slice() method takes the startIndex and endIndex as an arguments and returns a new array with the copied elements from the startIndex and endIndex-1.

In the example above, we have passed only the startIndex cars.slice(-5) so, it returns the last five elements from the array.

A negative index can be used, indicating an offset from the end of the sequence.
